Upon further tests, I found that if multiple flash SMS are sent on an iPhone, they get queued up (last in first out), and the user has to keep clicking “dismiss” button till each message is deleted. Since these messages can send a receipt back on deletion, a spammer can easily (and cheaply) trigger sending a new flash SMS when the previous one
To stop flash messages on your iPhone, follow these steps: Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone. Tap “Notifications.”. Scroll down and tap the app that you want to stop flashing notifications for. Toggle off the “Allow Notifications” option. This will prevent the app from sending flash notifications to your iPhone.
